"Cottonwood Trees in Spring" Near the outskirts of Cottonwood Island Park there are two beautiful cottonwood trees standing tall together through many, many years. At the base is a fox den that sometimes is occupied, and sometimes not. When the water floods the slough when the Nechako River runs high in the spring, it sometimes comes close to the hole in the base of the trees. And when the water flows, the trees bloom a magnificent shade of green and the bush around the pond grows thick with new foliage, obscuring my view for fox watching but I appreciate the narrow glimpse through the trees every time I stop by.
