Sooke Sunset Time

Sooke Sunset No 1 is the first in a series of 4 sunset skies captured on September 1, 2020. From a high vantage point above the town of Sooke on Vancouver Island, overlooking the Salish Sea, Sooke Harbour, Whiffin Spit and beyond to the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. 

Whenever I visit Sooke, this is one of my most favourite places to photograph where the sunsets never disappoint. The satin sky fills with pinks and purple hues, then gradually disappears into the night sky. But for those brief, fleeting moments, I can stand in a moment of calmness and just breathe in the salt air of the Pacific Ocean.
