"Takaya Leaving Home" Takaya is a well loved icon in British Columbia, and with much of this unique coastal wolf's life having been documented by Cheryl Alexander, Takaya's story has gone on to inspire so many towards protecting wolves and the wild spaces they call home.
"Takaya Leaving Home" This was created for the Takaya Lone Wolf Arts Festival in 2021 in honour of the life of a beloved B.C. coastal wolf, Takaya. It is a way to bring awareness and support for true protection for wolves in British Columbia, as well as the wild habitats they and so many other species need to survive. Being a voice for their protection has become ever more important for me over the years, and I use paintings like this to share glimpses of what feels so precious and calls for our love. It is my hope that we see the value of the living world and connect with it in a better way than we have in the past.
